The honest page

What it cannot do.

Most products put this in the FAQ in smaller type. It is the first thing worth knowing, because the limits are why it is safe to point at your customers.

It cannot message anyone first

There is no function anywhere in the system that takes a phone number and sends a message to it. Sending requires an open conversation that a customer started, and there is no way to create one. This is not a toggle that could be flipped by a bad update or a support request. The capability does not exist.

So: no promotions, no follow-ups days later, no "still interested?", and no review requests to people who never wrote to you.

It cannot invent a price, a time or an address

It answers from your notes and nothing else. If you have not written down what something costs, it does not estimate, round, or say "usually around". It tells the customer it will check, and it tells you there is a question waiting.

This is the failure worth designing against above all others. A made-up price is one your customer will hold you to.

It cannot see a calendar you keep somewhere else

Bookings work because the diary is here. You set your hours, your services and how long each one takes, and it books against that. It can offer a real time, confirm it, move it, and cancel it.

What it has no access to is anything outside that. If your day actually lives in Fresha, in Square, in a shared Google Calendar or in a paper book on the counter, it cannot read them and will not pretend to. It takes the details and passes them to you instead.

That is the honest version of a promise this category routinely breaks. An assistant that says yes to a time it cannot check creates more work than it saves.

It cannot answer the phone

Voice is a different product with different failure modes, and a wrong answer spoken aloud in real time cannot be reviewed before it lands. If most of your enquiries are calls, this is the wrong tool and we would rather say so now.

It cannot reopen a conversation that has gone quiet

WhatsApp allows a business to reply freely for 24 hours after a customer's last message. After that, the only way to write to someone is a pre-approved template, and templates are marketing machinery we have chosen not to build.

Worth being precise about what that means: once the window closes, you cannot reply either. Not through us. The conversation waits until the customer writes again.

It cannot pretend to be you

Ask it directly whether it is a person and it will say plainly that it is not. It will not claim to be a member of staff, and it does not get a human name.

What it does instead

It answers the question your customer actually asked, in seconds, from what you have already written down, at three in the morning, and it hands you anything it is not sure about. That is the whole product.
